Paul and Bill, I apologize if I tarnished the reputation of these card rooms that you frequent.
Thank you for giving others and me on the board some history on the card rooms around the Sacramento area.
I’m sure that the people who frequent the Gold Spike, The Western, The Town Tavern and other casinos/card rooms around the World think their establishments are perfect in every way.
I come from Kansas City and we have had problems in our area casinos. So I find it VERY hard to believe that there has NEVER been problems at any of the card rooms in your area.
I’m only posting my observations on how I perceived the card rooms based on my own observation.
Just for me to put things in perspective, I have been to well over a 100 casinos/card rooms in California and Nevada over the last 2 weeks. I have a pretty good idea how I should feel when I walk into a casino/card room and have ALL play stops in a casino/card room.
Yes, I didn’t go to the card room to play cards and everyone doesn’t know me by name (which would make things very different). I’m just reporting how I see it for the first time.
I wished I had gotten the chance to run around with you and Bill. However I spent the weekend in Reno/Tahoe/Carson City (where I felt much saver).
One last note, I find it strange that an owner of card room (Ruben Marquez) can play cards in their own card rooms. Is this common practice in California?
