The military says the Marine has been missing for a week but it can't confirm that he is a hostage. The Marine, who speaks Arabic, was apparently born in Lebanon and his wife lives there. Sounds to me as if the military had thought he'd gone AWOL before this tape surfaced. I'm sure we'll hear more before long.
