"The right questions have been asked. We have a business meeting once a year in conjunction with the convention. The business meeting gives ample opportunity to ask any and all questions club members may have"
Unfortunately I cant travel 8000 miles to ask a few questions . My previous questions on the topic have yielded either no responses, or no responses from the 'right' people.
"a feasibility study can be conducted anytime after a specified amount of "seed" money is collected. In our case $50,000 was the goal"
true for a commercial organisation..but is it totally appropriate for a club seeking donations?
Mention was made previously of the 'multi-millionnaire' club members who we pray might 'buy in'. IMO if the feasibility study had been carried out first they may have already done so!
This is the part I have the problem with (as devils advocate please remember). It appears that my club sought to raise $50,000 before a feasibility study was carried out...NOT...it sought to raise $50,000 towards the funding of a building. If I invest $50,000 in a commercial venture, and then the feasibility study concludes it will not go ahead, then my money is returned. What happens to the donations? I think that is what the sceptics want to know.
"From a reality approach the "Mission" statement can set any objective. It is not cut in stone and can be changed anytime by the board as circumstances warrant"
I quite agree. However, it is obviously out of date but the published version on the club board has not been updated.
