Sadly, there are chip sellers who will reference whichever price guide inflates the value of their chip that they are selling the most.

In my opinion, with all due respect to the authors, most of the values listed in the "Official US Price Guide" are grossly outdated. That said, the book still contains a LOT of useable information.
