I fully support it myself and I hope it will happen. I chose your post as a good point to carry on from for the following reasons:
All I have read so far on the board is the feelings of members on whether we should or should not have a building and the word 'scam' which I will come back to shortly.
On many occasions, officers have commented that they have tried to 'answer the questions'. That may well be the case, but how many of the questions asked so far have been 'the right ones'.
I am looking at this, like you, with a CPA hat on also...eg I have a client with money to invest who has asked me 'should I invest in this club/building'?
'SCAM' observation... Perhaps too many people do not understand the 'building fund' scenario and they think the money is being given to someone who may or may not come up with a building for us. Thats how I read peoples comments. THIS NEEDS TO BE MADE CLEARER...The club has set aside monies, both arising from donations and general income, which is designated for the purpose of funding the purchase of a club building. Whatever happens..whether we ever obtain a building or not..this is still the club's money.
The 'club' in this context is the ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP, not the officers or their committees.
