>>>Somebody has got to stand up, take exception, and challenge the author to present facts which would substantiate the veracity of what he was told directly.
I was going to stay completely out of this until you posted this.
Unless you have actual FACTS that the comment made by Joe is a fabrication, I suggest you cease from implying that it was. Nobody has the right to imply that another member is a liar unless THEY have FACTS to back up such a serious allegation.
I have no reason to doubt that Joe heard it and I have absolutely no doubt that someone actually said it.
If those parties who said it don't want to make a public display for your benefit, you will just have to learn to live with it. Joe is certainly under no obligation to meet any demand made by you or anyone else.
If I had heard those comments at the convention, I may have posted the exact same thing and I would have met your demands with all of the indifferent indignation that they deserve.
The most irrelevant part of all of this what you seek. Who said what doesn't matter one damn bit unless you are keeping some private little black list on your desk.
The only important question to address is the one that Joe asked because putting out complete accurate and timely information is the only way to combat misinformation and wild speculation.
I suspect that some of you may be so personally wrapped up in this club that you may have lost just a bit of your objectivity and perspective.
You are a very highly respected member of this organization and the gaming community as a whole. It does not serve you well to choose to directly challenge a new member rather than attempt to guide and inform him.
Aw crud... I'm going to practice my poker chip shuffle...
Have a nice evening.
