I planned on being in Las Vegas for 8 days this year so I could go to all of the locals places and get extra chips and maybe even enter a few BJ tournaments. After having steak and lobster at the Stardust I went to visit with the roulette collectors at the Westward Ho. After being there about 15 minutes I wasn't feeling very well so I made my appologies and left. To make a long story short, I had the flu for the next 3 days and my next real meal was at the Banquet. Fortunately my stomach started behaving itself and I was able to enjoy the whole convention. I even picked up a record number of chips and tokens this year - over 825! I was really surprised by the number of illegal club/UFC chips that I was able to get. I was disappointed in the number of reasonably priced riverboat chips available this year. Fortunately I found one dealer on Saturday who had a large supply and was able to get quite a few I needed.

We got back to the airport on Monday morning nice and early since we had nothing else to do only to find that many planes were delayed including ours. I tried to get bumped but they said that they didn't need us and we got on the plane. After another short delay the pilot said that the mechanics were trying to fix an oil leak in the engine. I figured that would be a good thing to do before we left. They tried the engine and then worked on it some more. Meanwhile the stewardess called our name and told us to get off of the plane. Finally got a bump! Of course the next plane was also full so we had to wait around until 4:00PM before we left but it was worth the $620 in bump certificates we got. Life is good when you have time to travel and is even better when the travelling is free.
