so much for freedom of speach
Freedom of Speech implies that anyone can publically state their opinion about anything. In my opinion, the key word is "publicly". For some individual to impune the motives of the entire leadership (and many hardworking volunteers) of this club by calling their efforts a "scam" and then hiding behind "anonymity" is cowardice. To publish their words, without a shred of supporting evidence, is IMHO, an act of stupidity. It implies that you support their opinions without any proof.
However, you are allowed to make ignorant statements, without any supporting facts, as long as you make it clear that it is just an unsupported opinion. We can all then make our own judgements about the veracity of your personal opinion.
There are several reasons to look for a place to call our own -- whether it be a seperate building or a portion of some other building.
1. We have a number of displays and other items which must be stored between conventions.
2. We have records & archives which should be stored in a central place.
3. Now that we have status as a tax free educational organization, there have been a number of contacts about donations and bequeaths of collections to the club. These need to be stored in a temperature controlled environment.
4. There are an number of other possibilities, including museum and store, which are under study by the Vision & Faesability Committee.
These efforts have the support of the the vast majority of the Club. The monies collected are in a seperate fund under strict scrutiny of the elected officials of this Club.
It is time for you to admit you are wrong for publishing unsupported accusations, apologize to those you have insulted, and drop the subject.
