The topic of 'illegal club' has come up and would like a definitive definition of same. As starters I have always thought of same as:
'A club or individual who ran a gambling establishment but did not apply for or receive a license of any kind'. Usually in an area where gambling was illegal.

Would appreciate any input to this matter.
