I think the situation we all overlook is that if the oil stopped flowing for whatever reason, it would cripple the economy of this nation virtually overnight.
While we have the capability to build refineries, utilize nuclear power, manufacture alternative fuels and build electric cars we are dragging our feet to do so.
I can just imagine what would happen if gas hit $5 or $10 per gallon.

Some years back, I was offered a job in Saudi Arabia. The money was great but I already saw the handwriting on the wall then and declined.
I'm glad now that I did so.
My concern now is that if our military leaves the mid east that this war of terrorism will move to our shores.
