I enjoy just about any form of motor racing except motorcycles, but I prefer road courses. I enjoy the Indy 500, especially because I enjoy the tradition. It's an event much like the Kentucky Derby.

When I was a young man I used to go to Lions in Long Beach, CA. As you indicated, the power is awesome. But for 15 years my best friend and I attended the three days of the Long Beach Grand Prix. Suddenly in 1995 we decided that fighting the crowds in Long Beach was just too much, especially since I had moved farther away. Since then I've been to only one motor race, the Indy car (or was it CART?) race at California Raceway in Fontana. Guess I'm getting old.
