I have Comcast phone service in the Portland Oregon area. I don't get the free calls that you mention but otherwise the same. Reliability has been satisfactory; two short outages in the past year at the same time cable Internet service went down. Voice quality is fine... same as regular wire service from the local telco. I recommend it!
