... and catch the storm chasers going round and round as they go up, up and away!
Years ago a man in Kansas saw a tornado coming towards his farm and as many times before he called his family and the dog into the shelter to wait it out. This time the tornado was a lot larger than those he had seen before so he grabbed his camera as he went in. He could hear the deafening roar as it came closer and closer, then the sound suddebly changed. He cracked the shelter door to peer out he was inside the tornado looking up into the tornado! It was hovering over the shelter door and inside the tornado it was clear with lightning bolts arching from side to side and a whisp of dust occasionally going up. His camera was equipped with a auto-wind film advance so he was able to get off almost a roll if pictures in just a few seconds before the tornado began to move again. He later sold these pictures to National Geographic for a FORTUNE. Because these were the ONLY known pictures of INSIDE a tornado he said he made enough to rebuild the farmhouse The National Geographic put out a special edition in the early 60's and it contained about 12 pages of pictures he took that day. I kept that issue for years......
