In over 40 years of chip collecting. I'v found that more often than not, where a chip is found has very little to do with where it was used.

That said:
I don't remember the orginal finder of the TBird chips saying, they were found in LV. He might have, but I don't remember it that way.
The seller of the chips was not the finder of them.
