That's not out of line to ship a big piece of glass, Steve. In fact, most slot glass that has to be shipped costs more for the packing and shipping than the purchase price. The only really safe way is to build a wooden crate for it. You can ship it in a cardboard box with lots of cushioning but it's a real gamble.
