Hiya Larry, as usual Dwayne Kling has the skinny in his encyclopedia of Reno gaming, The Rise of the Biggest Little City. Sanford Adler owned both Club Cal-Neva in Reno and the Cal Neva Lodge at Tahoe. No specifics about Adler and the Tahoe club are in Kling's Reno book but he tells us that Adler and some associates bought and remodled Club Fortune in 1948 and opened as Club Cal-Neva. Read about how the IRS closed the place in 1955 and why Adler was permanently barred from Nevada gaming in the book!
