I think at this point the folks holding the chips aren't aware of the mechanics of the chip market. Primarily, that "hoard" and "new find" aren't automatic enhancements to a chip's value. Then there's also the math to be considered, that is, the large number of chips available to existing chip collectors which makes the slab fee a hard additional cost to justify. The coin jungle is a lot different than our little Eden here in ChipperLand and I expect that someday the whole lot will be dumped off to a chip dealer.
BTW, for anyone that remembers the engagements of the the initial Slab Threat, perhaps you can help me out. When I tried the archives to find Rene's posts on the subject, I came up empty... did he call us "brownshirts" or "brown shirts"?
