Right - I am not saying it's the only criteria a chipper would use, just that it's one of many questions I would ask.

The reason I ask is many chip sellers list it, while others act like I am from Mars when I ask.
I'm just trying to see if others are using the same criteria, among many others.
For me, I can usually see if the chip is drilled, so standing and cross-hatching are the main two questions I ask first.
Again - I had a conversation with a seller who claimed to have been collecting for 15 years and never heard of cross-hatching. He even had James' book, which details that feature. I guess he used it for values and not general information.
So w hat criteria do you all used to determine the condition of a chip?
