When you have 50 of these chips sitting in a box, edgewise, the color difference is apparent. The colors are uniform for the lighter chips and the darker chips, no in betweens. And since all the chips have a full or almost full hot stamp, they were not used on the tables all that long. So I can't believe that wear explains it all.
