I recently aquired a few of these $1 chips from the closed King 8 Casino in Las Vegas. The chips came in two distinct varieties, although TCR9 lists only one, V2861. The find is too late for TCR10 which is already at the printers. So this new find is for the next issue, TCR11.
The quantities found of the two varieties were just about equal. The chip on left is lighter in color, has a thicker hot stamp (especially on the "$1"), and has square edges. The other chip is darker, has a thinner hot stamp and has rounded edges. I would say that the differences cannot be explained by the wear. All the chips have been used on the tables for a little while because they show some wear, but they all have full or almost full hot stamps.
I have a few of these available to trade or sell. They are listed as F value, $20 to $24 in TCR. I am selling them for $15 each, $25 for one of each. There is a limit of one of each chip. Trades are also welcome.
