Chuck; The tubes I have, such as has been described, are indeed marked "medallion", which are slightly larger than those tubes used for silver dollars. The reason these size tubes are mass produced were primarily for CROWN SIZE coins & tokens and just happened to be a perfect fit for casino chips.
