I agree with everything you have said. In fact, I didn't know that the London Park had a £2.50 token!
The only thing to add is that many casinos have no £2.50 at all, and use a combination of £1 and 50p chips to pay a blackjack. At least they don't (usually) resort to using coins on the tables, so you can either get a £2.50 or a 50p depending on where you play.
Fred is right about slots - considered a children's game in arcades with low values (2p, 5p, 10p etc). I don't think you will ever see the huge value machines, as there just isn't as much interest and so not enough going in to make big jackpots even with linked machines. Just a culture thing I guess - at the end of the day, bookies shops will always outnumber casinos 100 to 1 in the UK, and that is where most of the gaming pounds go, which is why 'Vegas style' casinos (in my opinion) will probably never happen over here as there just isn't the cash to fund them.
