Actually, I am a member (inactive) of a Rolling Stones discussion forum, "Shidoobee with Stonesdoug" http://www.stonesdoug.com. In order to post to that board, you have to sign up and establish a username & password. The good, there are no TROLLS. There are a few flames thrown back and forth between the members though, but good naturedly.

The down side is it takes away some of the accessibility to that board for the casual user and I am sure that it is more of a head ache to administer.

The best way to deal with our TROLLS is to COMPLETELY IGNORE THEM. Don't respond to their posts, don't even read them. They will get bored and go away after they're not receiving the attention they crave so badly.
