Sorry, but I must disagree with you on this issue. I frequently sell chips on eBay, and I charge shipping and handling of $2.50 for the first chip and $1.25 for each additional chip that is shipped at the same time. (These fixed fees are clearly noted in the auction itself.) I use a bubblewrap envelope which costs me about 50 cents, and postage is usually 60 cents. So why do I charge about $1.40 for shipping and handling more that the actual cost? I do this to compensate me for the eBay commissions and PayPal fees. If I put a chip on eBay for $7.00 that cost me $5.00 to purchase, and if I didn't charge the higher shipping and handling fee, then I would just break even on the transaction, or maybe even lose money. It wouldn't be worth my time or energy to put the chip up for auction.
As I said before, I clearly state the shipping charge UP FRONT in the auction advertisement. There should be no surprises anywhere.
My eBay rating, by the way, is 100%.
