Jay; The club can not enforce members to adopt the "official" terms. The argument the slabbers presented was that there was no standard system in effect to describe casino chips ... and they were hell-bent on imposing their Mint State standard on us because it happened to be in effect in the coin hobby. Chippin' is not coin collecting.
I'm sure that many chippers will keep on using whatever terms they have been using in the past. It's human nature to resist change. "Rare" will continue to mean one thing to some ebay sellers ... and I'm sure that "Mint" will also continue to be widely used. Maybe that will all change 5 or 10 years down the road? I personally believe the change was a good one.
