Chip prices vary widely. The same chip can sell on eBay at a number of prices. Chip resellers, both brick & mortar and on-line, sell their chips at whatever the market will bear. Selling chips for higher and higher prices increases the values of everyone's chips. How can you expect all sellers to adhere to the same narrow price range on similar chips?
A better question is why didn't you research the values of the chips you purchased BEFORE you purchased them?
You cannot hold the club members responsible. Just look at the prices in The Chip Rack. Are they misguiding buyers by listing prices well above what those same chips go for on eBay and elsewhere? Bottom line: It's up to each buyer to know what he's buying before he plunks down his money. Just plain common sense.
