Perhaps they weren't worth $75 to start with. Mr. Banick puts out a fine catalog but it is my opinion that some of his prices are not realistic. Some of the chips are way to high. But on the other hand some are way to low. For example. How many people out there have a complete set of the 50 State chips from the Lodge Casino? I only know of one complete set. These chips are priced at $8 I believe. You can usually buy them for around $6. But just try to find a complete set. There are some under $20 chips I have NEVER seen and I have been collecting Colorado chips for several years.
Another point I would like to make is that a person should not collect with investment in mind. While there are some chips that go up the vast majority stay the same or fall over time and when you try to sell odds are you will do well to break even. Collect for fun and don't accumulate to try and make a profit.
Just my thoughts on the subject.
