It is illegal to take a roulette chip whether you intend to re-sell it or just put it in a binder and stare at it from time to time. It is called petty larceny in most places. But I have to agree with Archie that you probably won't go to jail if you get caught. Further, I am guilty of aiding and abetting the roulette thieves cuz I buy from them.
