... this also explains how some "chip restorers" (who are defended by some very knowledgeable and respected chippers) are able to offer colors that have never existed before on original brass core mold chips. Siimply remove all the plastic from a PIM chip and re-apply whatever color plastic strikes your fancy. It's basically the same process.
