Carry on is of course the only way to do it and when you do carry come on be sure to tell the guard at the xray machine that you have chips in the case. It saves a lot of hassels. They are going to want to thoroughly search them anyway but telling them what is in there ahead of time saves a lot of nervousness on their part and they seem to go thru the process a lot quicker.
