I'm not trying to start any controversy, but the Don't Pass with odds (yes that's a hook isn't it?) is the best bet in the casino.
This also assumes that 21 perfect play isn't one of the options, because it is the best bet.
The best one play bet in the casino, would be Baccarat, becase there are no options for the player.
Betting Banker is 1.1% house edge.
Betting Don't pass 1.4%, with odds .8, double odds .61
If the question is the best bet in the casino, it's Craps, double odds.
If it's the best single bet, it's baccarat.
If it's the best for someone who can play perfect strategy it's 21.
But since all three hover around 1%, quibbling over a 10th or two, hardly makes a difference.
I had a guy argue that DDAS (double down after split) was an advantage and casinos is Elko were making more, because they had "crappy" odds.
After looking, less than a dozen offered it in Las Vegas at the time, and other locations had droped it or had it offered on shoes of six decks.
In the end 2/10ths of a percent advantage for each $100 bet means the casino is giving up 20 cents per $100 dollars, which might effect their big numbers, but for a player, in a whole night it can mean 2 bucks for every $1000 wagered. Whoop De Do! The guy is betting $25 to $100 a hand and he's worried about two bucks?
