On errors, many can be created by pulling on the ticket as it is printing and coming out of the machine. One of the printer vendors announced that it is going to offer a new printer model that will completely print the ticket prior to ejecting any part of the ticket. The need for a new printer type is based on casino comments that customers were presenting poorly printed tickets for redemption because the customers were pulling the tickets out before printing was completed.
On fading one of the paper vendors has indicated that they will offer a coated paper that they say will have a print life of ten years. My experience is that some tickets last a long time, others fade fast. Also the type of pages that are used to store the TITO's appears to have some impact on fading, all plastic currency pages seem to promote fading, mylar and black paper stamp pages seem to work better
