I just happened to think...Newcastle, WY. It is 55 miles south of Deadwood, but a nice ride thru the hills. They seem to have quite a few motels, all pretty small, might be a thought tho. Lodging is tough and extremely expensive during the rally.

I saw one place charging $650.00 a night.

The Foothills Inn in Rapid City has some rooms available. Decent place to stay, but $458.00 a night on August 12th. I just put that day in to see what was available.
