Thanks Brian.
In Response To: You're my hero.... ()

Back in those days, I had friend that had a pong game and Atari. I was a TRS-80 (Trash 80) Color Computer guy myself grin and bought one when I was in High School. Had another good friend that was a C64 junkie and we always debated about which one was better.

Initially the 1st COCO came out with 4K of ram! The Coco II came out with 16K, we thought we would NEVER run out of memory. Then read where you could add on another 16k of memory by pigging backing another row of memory chips on top of each current row of memory chips and soldering them together. Those were the good ole' days. vbg

COCO was a computer but also had a ROM pack cartridge slot for games that would be plugged in similar to the Atari. I wrote an assembler program that would copy down the machine Lang code from the inserted ROM pack and copy that code into lower ram and then save it to cassette tape so that I could swap games with friends. (Games were written with relative addressing and would run in any available memory locations). Submitted an article for the Color Computer Magazine about my program and how to do it but they didn't publish it. LOL
