Just returned from Vegas, and spent some time at Sams. It's one of my favorite places to gamble. Played craps, and video poker. Actually did very well at the video poker. Craps was about even. The restaurants are good there. Willy and Joses is good mexican. Billy Bobs is good for steak. My wife an I usually split a meal because it is so big. Didn't eat at the buffet, lines were HUGE. I highly recommend the $3.99 steak and eggs at the little restaurat.
You may also want to look at the Orleans or Binions for poker. They have a lot more tables. Palms only had about 6 or 8, and they were packed.
