Having a roulette table in our game room and a craps table at our office, it's interesting that my wife has never played either. She has no interest at all in table games, never has. She is your typical slots player, content to go one on one with the metal one armed bandits.

Four years of using my roulette table only as a convienent place to fold clothes ( need to talk to her about that ).

So last month she goes to Vegas for six days with her sisters. Three days of getting killed on slots seems to change her thinking. On the fourth day these wives gone wild walk by a roulette table with a friendly looking female croupier, and seven empty chairs. They plop themselves down and my wife explains, " we have never really played and don't know the rules".

Yeah, like that's my fault. She sure knew how to roll socks and fold t-shirts on it.

Bottom line, she wins $110 and has the time of her life, showing more emotion than she ever did during our private times ( if you know what I mean).

Spends the rest of her trip playing roulette and winning $110 once more, then $150 then some ups and downs. She comes home with less money than she went with ( mostly because of that super expensive dinner at the revolving restaurant on the top of the Stratosphere).That was the wrong place to announce to her sisters that dinner was on her that night.

She came home telling me what a great game roulette is. How much fun she had, and showing me her new found plans to beat the wheel on he next visit. She even sat down this week with my daughter and I to play roulette in the game room where the house always wins, and we are always the house.

As we approach our 20th aniversary in May I can only smile and think how nice it is to finally find something that we have in common.

Gambling...it brings family's together. How's that for a new slogan for Vegas?

Actually my new favorite slogan hangs above our craps table. It reads " IT'S ONLY A GAMBLING PROBLEM...IF YOU'RE LOSING"
