That's very true.... I did make my table just a tad too wide. At our game, we have a designated dealer and we rotate in and out of the dealer position every hour or so. I do wish that I made the table not so wide.
On the positive side, the table fits 11 players pretty comfortably around the entire table. On the downside, the dealer is always leaning over to reach for chips & cards and asking for help.
The legs do fold up. I had a big table that we would bring out for neighborhood picnics and it got rained on one year. The particle board top got wet and ruined it. I took the ruined top off and replaced it with my plywood top that I made for this table. The base is pretty sturdy but you're right... Probably wouldn't want someone to pass out on top of it. It's easy to fold up and tuck away if need be.
I also fabricated the drawer myself. Took an old heavy metal CPU computer case and mounted it upside down on the table. Positioned the drawer so that the legs will still fold properly. Then built a custom drawer to fit. Bought the drawer slides at Home Depot. Worked out pretty nice.
This was my first attempt at building a poker table. My brother wants me to help him make him one and we'll take the lessons learned on this table to make his a little better.
