I seem to recall there was mention in a Travel Channel program about this. Basically, anything can be put into the machines. My understanding was that there is a standard size capsule that would be used, similar to what you would get out of a kids gumball machine. They can put gems and jewelry in there along with gold ingots and even certificates for anything including show tickets, free trips and cruises, a house or a car.... if they wanted.

I have never actually seen one of these machines but the most common items that I did hear being awarded now were the jewelry type items.
