The seller of the lot, who could buy my collection many times over with pocket change, highly prizes the eagles. At one time when he bought eagles, price was never a factor.
Believe it or not, many of his reserves (or Buy-it-Now prices) are at or below what he paid. I won the piece (big $25 pink) shown below for $425. From what I've heard, there are only a few of these pieces and all that got one paid at least $500 (including Forheavensake).
Having said all that, in my opinion the eagle is not worth anywhere close to $650. However, if there is an eagle worth $650, it would be the blue eagle below. All blue eagles that I know of (except mine) have faint, what looks like, worn away eagles. The eagle is faint due to the fact that the chip was colored after it was carved. When the inside color was carved off to leave just a blue rim, much of the carving was removed in the process.
