I'd also like to hear from several people who have fireproof safes. Are they safe - no pun intended - for chips? Seems like I read something that said that, if there were a fire, the heat would rise high enough to melt the chips inside anyway. Any opinions on this?

Does anyone have any other advice on alternative solutions to protecting a large collection (several thousand chips)?

I think this will be helpful info for all of us here on the board, so I'd like to hear from as many people as possible, even if it's just an opinion.
