Everyone will have different views on this but there becomes a point when shipping becomes 'extortion'. To give you a clue, I am in the UK so much of my mailing is international.

On ebay, I charge $2 to ship a single chip to the US (in bubble envelope), and although I quote $1 per extra chip, in reality I adjust this down as I dont seek to make a profit on it.

For 'private' non ebay sales, I charge the exact cost (if there is no money in it for me) and quite often no charge at all for 10 or 20 chips.

Most of my purchases are from the US, and tend to be in bulk. Again, the sellers, almost all of whom are on this board, will only ever charge me the cost or nothing.

Within the UK, my charges are about 60% of those quoted, so I would expect the same to apply to you.

IMO, a shipping charge of more than say $1.50 first chip and 50c per extra is unreasonable.
