I listed some dice for sale yesterday including this pair from Mack's Mountain Club in Sonora, CA. The Mountain Club was located at 133 S. Washington St - the main street in downtown Sonora. It is now home to a bar called Blondie's - it was known as the Gay 90's in the early 1960s. I talked with a couple of long time residents and was told by both that the old Mountain Club had full up gambling in the back room - slots and tables - up until the big crackdown on illegal gambling in the foothills in the 1950s. These are a nice pieces of early California gambling history. There are also some chips floating around from this place.
