NO - ITS NOT DIRECTLY ABOUT THE GAMING BOARD BUT HOPEFULLY THE TITLE WILL MAKE YOU STOP AND READ.
A number of posts have sought to clarify the position regarding 'ethics' of collecting roulettes, and comparing the rules for roulettes to other chips.
The removal of roulette chips from tables (let alone the premises) is a security issue for all casinos and therefore prohibited by internal rulings. Most if not all casinos accept that the odd chip disappears regularly as a souvenir and they cant prevent that. However, harvesting is generally viewed as a pre-cursor to the subsequent possible re-introduction of those chips at the same table at a higher 'buy-in' value.
Providing there is no illegal motive, the clubs stance on 'collecting' these chips should be no different to that of any other chips.
However, for those who seek to obtain them from the casinos, dont be surprised (if you are too greedy) to get a tap on the shoulder from a member of security before you leave. In theory they could prosecute you, though in practice they will merley ask you politely to return the chips if you wish to remain welcome in the casinos of that area.
I have had first hand experience of this and I have a feeling Archie may have had also.
