Is it really true that in Nevada a gambler can't leave the casino with chips in his/her possession?

If so, if gaming knew that person "X" had chips in his possession and that person attempted to leave the casino or left the casino, can the gaming officer confiscate the chips from that person?

If so, how does that affect our convention??? Can gaming come onto the convention floor and take possession of any active Nevada chips that are found that belongs to other Nevada casinos?
