Re: It's not the reduction in LE's...

Right - I am not fond of #1 - why would they care where you buy the chips?

You can always set at a table, buy in for $500, look around and after 2 hands act like you see the person you were "waiting for" - jump up and be gone. Chips secured at very little cost.

#2 is more troubling as I see every one of us who decides to take a chip out of a casino with the intent to commit "conversion" will be in violation of the Club's Code of Ethics, namely:

To conduct myself so as to bring no discredit to the Club or to impair the prestige of the Club or its members. (Legal tort of conversion - may also be a misdemeanor in NV)
To base all of my dealings on the highest plane of justice, fairness and morality. (stealing chips can't be any of these things)
Neither to buy nor sell any material of which the ownership is questionable.(stolen property certainly fits this description)

Right - the NIS will be history - that's obvious. I agree that's not good.

There are always other outlets.

Westin's Casurina opened and the chip collectors swept down and bought out all the $1 and $2.50 chips. They re-stocked the $1 ones and decided not to get any more $2.50 chips (this from a pit boss there).

Naturally the Pit Boss has 60 he tells me, stored away to be sold at $10 each. Market manipulation on the Mandalay Bay Year of the (fill in the blank) chips (and others) has been rampant. Lots of collectors were hurt bad by what went on.

IMO stopping LE chips will put a damper on some, but not all, of that crap.

The hobby has too high a profile and people are taking advantage.
