Re: JPA vs. eBay
In Response To: JPA vs. eBay ()

I ran my own personal test, listing identical auctions, with identical scans and wording on JPA and eBay. They started and ended at the same times on the same days... same starting prices and shipping fees. May I say I tried to make them as identical as possible.

Every item sold on eBay, nothing got a bid on JPA.

The items were Indian casino chips, Elko casino chips and roulette chips.

That aside, I still go to JPA and search for Wisconsin and then Elko, just about every week. And so far, the results are a blank page.

The closed auctions search and even the standard search are pretty mysterious to me. I just get a blank page, or did I get zero results, there's nothing to tell if it's just the same page or if the search actually did something. (hint: hit counter needed.)

I too would like to see JPA take over for casino collectors place. I think the fees are very reasonable. Just because I collect outside of the more popular areas, doesn't mean much, but there are many collectors who also have their own smaller collecting areas.

Navigation on JPA is mysterious and unclear to users. I could care less about the contests and bogus card games, which just create game players, not real bidders and buyers.

Now about the 50c listing fee on eBay. Either some folks don't have a clue, or aren't paying attention. (or trying to make it look like we are all stupid?) My cheap stuff lists for 37 cents most of the time, but for higher value items, a 50c limit on listing fees, makes a difference.
