I've never seen the process for marking ashtrays, Mark, but it would appear to me that silk screening is what is done to apply the paint to these glass items. I think that is what Dave was asking.

I understand there is a high temperature process that fuses the paint to the glass, but it would seem the image is formed on the surface by one or more screening operations. Do you know differently?
