I doubt a repair would be that hard to catch, but a wholesale fake would have me wondering.

How hard could it be to actually make one? Not hard I am guessing.

Gold foil for HS restorations? I already thought of that and may try it on a $5 Landmark I have - or is it a $5 NCV? In any case I think that would be pretty easy with the right tools.
