Hi Jim,
I wish to thank you again for helping me (and possibly others) understand how the convention process works. I wish to applaud you and the other volunteers that donate their time to our club so that the other club members may enjoy a well run club and convention.
I hope you interpret my questions as "trying to learn" and not that I am complaining whatsoever. I think it's a fair question to understand why the price is higher and hope the question did not upset you.
You quoted a price that you've seen some conventions where dealer spaces go for $1000 per table for a two day event and many conventions where admission was 10 to 20 times higher than ours. Was this at the Rivera or elsewhere? That's a pretty big dollar amount and suspect that you must be quoting dealer space and admissions from higher end casinos.
I for one am glad to see that our convention was moved to somewhere else besides the Trop (I know it was moved because of uncertainty with the status of the Tropicana's future). I supported the club the past two years by staying at the Trop and by booking the convention room/rate. I was of the opinion that the Tropicana's rooms were horrible and the walk was very long to the convention area. It is my hope that the Rivera offers a better convention experience than the Tropicana.
As far as the price going up... You wouldn't hear me complaining. I would rather spend a few extra dollars and have our convention in a nice facility.
Thanks again for the information.
Brian
