I agree with the consensus of the board....preserve the ashtrays.

I hope the person who found them will release the ID of the new-found stash. Without knowing which rare tray was found, a cloud of "suspicion" hovers over all of them.

Also, we know there's fake trays out there....if he "sits on" the trays, and someone else puts them out later (his heirs, for example) they could be mistaken for fakes, and that would be even more disasterous for the prices.

The trays should be released, with the story of how they were found.
